Spring Wedding at Orchardleigh Estate, Somerset

I teamed up with a talented group of Somerset wedding suppliers to create a spring inspired wedding shoot at Orchardleigh Estate, a grand 19th Century Victorian house with 500 acres of stunning grounds.

Historic buildings are often seen as the perfect backdrop for autumn and winter weddings, (think dark wood, candles and rich velvety florals) and it can be difficult to imagine how to use them to their full potential as a spring/summer wedding venue.

We chose to focused on the characterful architecture of this stately home wedding venue, injecting creative spring florals and bold styling to create a vibrant contemporary look for a spring wedding.

Our bride was styled in stunning Charlie Brear wedding gowns. The Charlie Brear collection features bridal separates which allows the bride to mix and match their look to create authentic and unique styles. The wedding dresses are so flattering and flow effortlessly. They were a joy to photograph.

Orchardleigh Estate is a beautiful wedding venue to shoot in and I was spoilt for choice with a wealth of stunning backdrops to use; from the historic architecture of the house itself, with soft natural light pouring through the large windows to the landscaped gardens and wild woodlands.

In 2019 Orchardleigh Estate also opened a newly renovated outdoor ceremony space, we instantly fell in love with the faded grandeur of the architecture which made a striking backdrop for our contemporary bride.
