As a wedding photographer, I've had the privilege of capturing weddings in some amazing settings, but few venues hold the beauty and rustic charm quite like The Gathering Barn in Warminster. Set in glorious rural isolation, on the rolling South Wiltshire Downs, The Gathering Barn offers couples a dreamy backdrop for their special day.

Let me share some of my favourite features of this versatile wedding venue and why I love photographing weddings there.

My wedding photography style is relaxed and informal which is perfect for this type of venue. My focus is on capturing natural moments in a documentary style, rather than posing awkwardly for staged ones. I love photographing rural weddings at rustic venues, with lots of emphasis on fun and laughter and The Gathering Barn is the perfect environment for this.

Exclusive Wedding Venue

The Gathering Barn is a blank canvas for creative couples to make it their own. They offer a 4 x day exclusive hire of the venue and accommodation, from Thursday morning to Sunday afternoon, which gives lots of time to decorate, celebrate, and wind down on the Sunday.

Rustic Charm

Set around the south-facing courtyard the U-shaped building includes 2 barns licensed for Marriage Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships. Each with exposed brick, weathered wooden beams, expansive barn doors, and stunning countryside views. Every corner of this venue provides an opportunity for stunning photographs.

As a photographer, I'm always drawn to venues that offer a blend of natural beauty and architectural character. The Gathering Barn perfectly balances both, allowing me to capture timeless moments against a backdrop that feels both intimate and grand.

Golden Hour Magic

With its 360-degree views, one of the standout features of The Gathering Barn is its ability to showcase the beauty of each season, whether it's the lush greenery of spring, the vibrant colors of autumn, or the cosy warmth of winter. However, as a photographer, I particularly love the magic of golden hour at this venue.

During the golden hour, the soft, warm light casts a glow over the landscape, creating a dreamy atmosphere that is perfect for capturing intimate moments between the newlyweds.

The Gathering Barn Accommodation

The Gathering Barn Accommodation is self-contained and sleeps 6 – 8 people. With underfloor heating throughout and a log burner in the Sitting Room, winter weddings are well catered for too.

There is also a grass paddock opposite for glamping and camping so you can invite all your guests to make a weekend of it!
